Paramount+ gets a "medium" difficulty rating not because the process is complicated, but because the cancel button is known to break. Multiple users have reported it simply not working in Chrome or Edge. If that happens to you, try Firefox. It's a known issue that Paramount hasn't fixed.
How to cancel
- Go to paramountplus.com/au in a web browser (not the app) and sign in
- Click your profile icon (top right) > Account
- Open Subscription & Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Follow the prompts to confirm
- Look for a confirmation email with your access end date
If the Cancel button doesn't respond, switch to Firefox. This has been the consistent workaround reported by users.
The cancel button has been reported as non-functional in Chrome and Edge across multiple Reddit threads dating back to 2023. Users describe clicking it with nothing happening. Paramount has not acknowledged or fixed this. If you're stuck, try a different browser or contact support via chat.

| Standard | $12.99/mo | $115.99/yr | 2 | HD | No |
| Premium | $17.99/mo | $159.99/yr | 4 | 4K HDR | No |
All plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. There's also a 25% student discount if you can verify through a university email.
If you want a refund
Paramount's official position is "no refunds." But this isn't the full story.
Users on Reddit have consistently reported that contacting support via chat and mentioning a bank chargeback or consumer complaint results in a "one-time courtesy refund" within minutes. The script that works:
"I'd like to cancel my subscription and request a refund. I haven't used the service. If a refund isn't possible, I'll need to dispute the charge with my bank."
This isn't guaranteed, but it has a high success rate based on user reports. Support may also offer you 2 free months instead of a refund as a retention tactic.
What's happening with Paramount+?
Paramount merged with Skydance Media in August 2025. Paramount+ is still operating normally in Australia and there are no plans to shut it down. However, Skydance is running a $2 billion cost-cutting programme, so content removals are possible. Network 10 (part of Paramount's Australian operations) is the more uncertain asset.
Worth knowing
- Free trial. New subscribers get 7 days free. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.
- No renewal reminders. Paramount+ doesn't send email reminders before your subscription renews. Set your own calendar reminder if you're on a free trial or annual plan.
- The circular redirect trap. Some users report the website telling them to cancel via the app, the app saying to cancel via Apple TV, and Apple TV saying to cancel via the website. If you're caught in this loop, contact support directly via the Help Centre.
One more streaming service off the list. How many are left?
