Cancel difficulty: Easy

Since HBO pulled its content from Binge in April 2025 and moved it to Max, a lot of subscribers have been reassessing whether Binge is still worth keeping. If you've decided it's not, cancelling takes about a minute.

Steps to cancel

  1. Go to binge.com.au and sign in
  2. Click the menu icon (three lines, top right)
  3. Select My Account
  4. Scroll down and click Cancel Subscription
  5. Select I agree on the confirmation screen

Binge will ask you why you're leaving (short survey), then confirm the cancellation.

After you cancel

Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No prorated refund, but no surprise charges either. Binge has no lock-in contracts, so you can resubscribe any time.

If you subscribed through Apple

If you signed up via the App Store:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name > Subscriptions
  3. Find Binge and tap Cancel Subscription

Current pricing (AUD)

Basic$10/mo1HDYes
Standard$18/mo24KNo
Premium$22/mo44KNo

If you're on Standard or Premium and just want something cheap for background watching, downgrading to Basic saves you $8-12/month.

Is Binge still worth it?

This is worth asking before you cancel. Since April 2025, HBO shows (Game of Thrones, Succession, The White Lotus, Euphoria) have moved exclusively to Max. If that's mainly what you watched, Binge probably isn't worth keeping.

What Binge still has:

  • Reality TV (Married at First Sight, The Bachelor)
  • Some Foxtel live channels
  • A decent library of older content and documentaries
  • Stan-style Australian originals

If you're only keeping Binge for one or two shows, consider the $10 Basic plan with ads instead of cancelling outright.

Worth knowing

  • 7-day free trial. New customers still get a free trial. If you cancel and come back, you might be eligible again after some time.
  • Binge runs regular deals. They've been offering $5/month promos since losing HBO. If you're on the fence, wait for one of those.

Cancelling is the easy part. Finding every subscription you're paying for is harder.

Most people find 3-5 subscriptions they forgot about when they actually look. Upload a bank statement to Subtracker and see every recurring charge in 2 minutes. No bank login. No manual entry. $12.99 once.
