Cancel difficulty: Easy

Mubi is one of the easiest streaming services to cancel. No phone calls, no chat agents, no mandatory surveys. You can do it from your account settings in about 30 seconds.

How to cancel on the web

  1. Go to mubi.com/subscription and sign in
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Mubi may offer you a pause option (1 to 3 months). Click through it if you want to fully cancel.
  4. Confirm the cancellation

That's it. You should receive a confirmation email.

Cancel if you subscribed through Apple

If you signed up through the iOS app, you need to cancel through Apple:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone > tap your name > Subscriptions
  2. Find Mubi and tap Cancel Subscription

Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date.

Cancel if you subscribed through Google Play

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
  3. Find Mubi > Cancel subscription

If you subscribed through Amazon Prime Video Channels, cancel through your Amazon account under Memberships & Subscriptions.

After you cancel

Access continues until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds. Your watchlist and watch history are saved, so you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe later.

Current pricing (AUD)

PlanPrice
Monthly$14.99/mo
Annual$119.88/yr (~$9.99/mo)
Student$8.99/mo

All plans include the full catalogue, ad-free streaming, offline downloads, and 2 simultaneous streams across up to 5 devices. A 7-day free trial is available for new subscribers.

Free arthouse alternatives in Australia

Mubi's niche is curated arthouse and international cinema. If that's what you're after, there are solid free options:

  • SBS On Demand has an Arthouse Essentials collection with international films, world cinema, and Australian independents. Free, ad-supported.
  • Kanopy is free with an Australian library card. Strong collection of arthouse, classic, and documentary films. You get 30 titles per month with no ads.
  • Tubi has a smaller arthouse section alongside its broader free catalogue. Ad-supported.

SBS On Demand is the closest free equivalent to Mubi for Australian viewers. The catalogue is larger (though less curated), and the arthouse and international film sections are genuinely good.

Mubi done. What other subscriptions are still running?

Most people find 3-5 subscriptions they forgot about when they actually look. Upload a bank statement to Subtracker and see every recurring charge in 2 minutes. No bank login. No manual entry. $12.99 once.
