Marley Spoon pushes you toward skipping weeks instead of cancelling. The cancel option is buried behind the skip and pause buttons, and if you don't cancel before the weekly cutoff (5-7 days before delivery), your next box ships and you're charged for it regardless.
How to cancel online
- Log in at marleyspoon.com.au
- Click your name or profile icon, then Settings
- Scroll to Manage subscription
- Click Stop Subscription
- Click Continue through the prompts (they'll suggest skipping or pausing first)
- Click Cancel account
- Click Proceed to confirm
Marley Spoon's cancellation flow steers you toward skipping a week or pausing your account before showing the actual cancel option. "Skip" only skips one delivery. "Pause" lets you pick a return date, but your subscription automatically resumes. Neither is a cancellation. You need to click through to "Stop Subscription" and then "Cancel account" to actually cancel.
Cancel by phone or email
If you'd rather not deal with the online flow:
- Phone: 02 6145 2910
- Email: contact@marleyspoon.com.au
State your name, email address, and that you want to cancel your subscription (not skip, not pause, cancel).
The weekly cutoff
This is the part that catches people. Marley Spoon locks in your next box 5-7 days before delivery. If you cancel after the cutoff, your next box still ships and you're still charged. Cancel early in the week to avoid paying for one more box you don't want.
Check your delivery schedule in your account to see when your cutoff falls.
No cancellation fee
Marley Spoon doesn't charge a penalty for cancelling. There's no contract or minimum commitment. You can reactivate your account later if you change your mind.
Pricing (for context)
| Box size | Meals | Price range | Per serving |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 people | 2-6 meals | $66.95 - $148.87 | ~$8.49 - $13.49 |
| 4 people | 2-5 meals | Varies | ~$5.49 - $7.49 |
All boxes include a $10.49 delivery fee. First-time customers often sign up with a discount (up to 47% off the first box), which makes the regular price feel steep by comparison.
Your account stays on file but inactive. No more boxes ship and no more charges. You can reactivate at any time. Any box already past the weekly cutoff when you cancelled will still be delivered and charged.
Meal kit sorted. But food delivery subs are just one category. What else is billing you every month?
Most people find 3-5 subscriptions they forgot about when they actually look. Upload a bank statement to Subtracker and see every recurring charge in 2 minutes. No bank login. No manual entry. $12.99 once.
