Cancel difficulty: Medium

Foxtel Now is the streaming-only product from the Foxtel Group (no satellite dish, no set-top box). It still exists as its own brand in 2026, separate from Kayo and Binge, though it's now owned by DAZN Group after the December 2024 acquisition.

Cancelling online takes a few minutes, but there's a catch: the cancel button is greyed out for the first 24 hours after signing up. If you just subscribed and want out, you'll need to wait a day.

How to cancel online

  1. Log in at foxtel.com.au/now
  2. Go to your account settings and click Cancel Subscription
  3. Click Yes, Cancel
  4. Select a reason for cancelling from the dropdown
  5. Select the device you use most often
  6. Click Cancel my membership
  7. You'll see an on-screen confirmation and get a confirmation email with your service end date
Dark pattern warning

The cancel button is greyed out for 24 hours after signing up. This isn't disclosed anywhere during signup. If you subscribed and immediately regret it, you'll have to wait a full day before the button becomes active. Multiple Reddit users in r/australian have flagged this as deliberately deceptive.

If the cancel button is greyed out

If you can't cancel online (either because of the 24-hour lock or a technical issue), try these alternatives:

Be prepared for a retention pitch. Foxtel's phone agents are known for escalating to a retention supervisor who will offer discounts and try to talk you out of cancelling.

Cancel if billed through Apple or Google

If you subscribed via the App Store or Google Play, Foxtel can't cancel for you. Cancel through your Apple or Google account directly.

After you cancel

You keep full access until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees (Foxtel Now is month-to-month, no lock-in). No refunds for unused time. You can reactivate later with the same username and password.

Current pricing (AUD)

All plans are month-to-month with no lock-in contract:

BundlePrice
Starter$35/mo
Sports + Movies$58/mo (first 12 months), then $84/mo
Ultimate$104/mo

All bundles include a 10-day free trial for new customers. Up to 5 registered devices, 2 simultaneous streams.

Foxtel Now vs Kayo + Binge

If you're paying for Foxtel Now mainly for sports and entertainment, consider whether Kayo ($29.99/mo) plus Binge ($18/mo) gives you the same content for less. At $48/mo combined, it's cheaper than the Foxtel Now Sports + Movies bundle at $58-84/mo, and you get dedicated apps for each.

Worth knowing

  • The standalone Foxtel Now app was scrapped. Mobile and tablet viewing now uses the Foxtel Go app.
  • In late 2025, Foxtel moved its news and lifestyle channels to Binge. If that's what you watched on Foxtel Now, it's now on a separate subscription.
  • The Foxtel Group is owned by DAZN Group as of December 2024. The brand continues but may change in future.

Foxtel Now cancelled. But how many other streaming subscriptions are still running?
