Deleting the Bumble app does not cancel your subscription. Neither does deleting your profile, pausing (Snooze mode), or unlinking your payment card. You will keep getting charged until you cancel through the platform you originally subscribed on.
Your matches, conversations, and profile are all kept after cancelling. You revert to free Bumble, which still lets you swipe, match, and message.
Cancel on iPhone (App Store)
Most iPhone users subscribe through Apple, which means Apple handles the billing and cancellation, not Bumble.
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
- Find Bumble and tap it
- Tap Cancel Subscription
Done. Your premium features stay active until the current billing period ends.
Cancel on Android (Google Play)
- Open the Google Play Store app
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
- Find Bumble and tap it
- Tap Cancel subscription and confirm
Same deal: features last until the end of what you've already paid for.
Cancel if you paid by credit card, PayPal, or Apple Pay
If you subscribed directly through Bumble (not via the App Store or Google Play), you cancel through the app or website.
On the Bumble app:
- Tap the profile icon (bottom left)
- Select Subscription details, then Manage your subscription
- Follow the prompts to cancel
On the Bumble website:
- Go to bumble.com and log in
- Click your profile picture (top left)
- Click Bumble Premium/Boost is active on the left side
- Select the option to cancel your subscription
Not sure how you subscribed?
Check your email for the original purchase receipt. If it came from Apple, cancel through iPhone Settings. If it came from Google, cancel through the Play Store. If it came from Bumble directly, use the app or website method above.
You can also check by opening the Bumble app, tapping your profile icon, and looking at Subscription details. It should tell you the payment method and where the subscription is managed.
Current pricing
Bumble's pricing varies by age, location, and platform. Users under 30 generally see lower prices. These are approximate Australian figures based on recent App Store and web pricing.
| Tier | Monthly (approx. AUD) | Longer term |
|---|---|---|
| Boost | $17-33/mo | From ~$10/mo (6-month plan) |
| Premium | $33-50/mo | From ~$17/mo (6-month plan) |
| Premium+ | ~$65-80/mo | From ~$33/mo (6-month plan) |
Bumble also sells one-off add-ons (Spotlight, SuperSwipe packs) that are separate from the subscription and don't auto-renew. If you only bought add-ons, you don't have anything to cancel.
Lifetime plans are available for some tiers (one-time payment, no recurring charge). If you're on a lifetime plan, there's nothing to cancel either.
What you keep vs what you lose
You keep: Your profile, all your matches, every conversation, your photos, and your verification status. Cancelling a paid subscription doesn't touch any of this. You go back to free Bumble, which still lets you swipe (with daily limits), match, and message.
You lose: Unlimited swipes, Beeline (see who liked you), Rematch with expired connections, Extend (more time for matches to message), Travel Mode, Advanced Filters (education, height, etc.), Incognito Mode, and Priority Likes (Premium+ only). Spotlight and SuperSwipe boosts stop too, unless you bought them as separate packs.
The free tier is genuinely usable. You can still swipe, match, and have full conversations. The paid features mostly save time and add visibility rather than gating core functionality.
Free trials auto-convert
Bumble offers 14-day free trials for Premium. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and continues to auto-renew at the full rate. Deleting the app or your profile does not cancel the trial. You must cancel through your App Store, Google Play, or Bumble account settings before the 14 days are up.
Refunds
Bumble doesn't offer refunds directly for most subscriptions. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, you need to request a refund through them:
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play: Open the Play Store > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history > find the Bumble charge > Request a refund
For direct card/PayPal subscriptions, contact Bumble support through the app (profile icon > Contact & FAQ). Refund approval is at their discretion.
Your premium features last until the end of your current billing period. After that, you revert to free Bumble. Your profile stays active, your matches and messages are kept, and you can still swipe and chat with daily limits. Nothing is deleted unless you go into Settings and delete your account.
One subscription down. If Bumble slipped under the radar, what else is auto-renewing on your card?
Most people find 3-5 subscriptions they forgot about when they actually look. Upload a bank statement to Subtracker and see every recurring charge in 2 minutes. No bank login. No manual entry. $12.99 once.
