Apple TV+ costs $15.99/month in Australia. Signing up is a single tap, but finding the cancel button means digging into your Apple ID settings. If you got Apple TV+ free with a new iPhone or Mac and forgot about it, you're not alone. That three-month trial auto-renews silently, and plenty of Australians only notice the charge months later.
If you got Apple TV+ free with a device
When you buy a new iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV 4K, Apple gives you three months of Apple TV+ free. You have 90 days from setup to claim it. The catch: it auto-renews at $15.99/month unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial expires. If you cancel during the trial, you lose access immediately rather than keeping it until the end date. This is different from most streaming services, where cancelling still gives you the remainder of your paid period.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find Apple TV+ and tap it
- Tap Cancel Subscription
If there's no cancel button, the subscription has already been cancelled or is managed through another platform.
Cancel on the web
- Go to tv.apple.com and sign in
- Click the account icon (top right)
- Click Settings
- Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage
- Click Cancel Subscription

Cancel on Mac
- Open the App Store
- Click your name (bottom left), then Account Settings
- Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage
- Find Apple TV+ and click Cancel Subscription
Cancel on Apple TV 4K
- Open Settings on your Apple TV
- Select Users & Accounts > your account
- Select Subscriptions > Apple TV+
- Select Cancel Subscription
If you're on Apple One
Apple TV+ is included in all three Apple One bundle tiers:

If you subscribed through Apple One, you cannot cancel Apple TV+ separately. You would need to cancel the entire Apple One bundle and resubscribe to the individual services you want to keep. Check whether that works out cheaper first. At $15.99/month for TV+ alone and $12.99/month for Music alone, the Individual bundle at $24.95 saves about $4/month if you use both.
If you subscribed through Amazon
If you signed up for Apple TV+ as a Prime Video Channel through Amazon, Apple cannot cancel it for you. You need to cancel through your Amazon account: Account & Lists > Memberships & Subscriptions > find Apple TV+ > Cancel Channel.
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No refund for unused days. Any films or shows you purchased outright (not through the subscription) remain in your library permanently. Downloaded Apple TV+ subscription content stops working once your subscription ends. Your watchlist and progress are saved if you resubscribe later.
